Winter Wardrobe Essentials

I’m excited to be sharing a few of my favorite winter wardrobe essentials today.  Items that you’ve definitely seen before, but that’s what makes them essentials, right? And the best part is that these items really do look flattering on anyone!  I will say, though, these items are not just for winter, but that’s what’s so great about them…they can be worn right into spring!

We got some snow here in Dallas last week, which happened to be the day that I shot these pictures.  I was hoping to capture one of those basic “blogger posing in the snow” -type picture, but, yeah, that didn’t happen.  Regardless, we enjoyed having some white on ground while it lasted.

These black distressed skinny jeans are a M U S T.  They have a higher waist, are comfortable, and very forgiving!  I get more “kudos” from my readers for sharing these black skinny jeans than almost anything else, especially from moms!  Seriously, they are that good.  If you are in-between sizes, I suggest sizing up.

A chambray button-down is another wardrobe essential.  It is incredibly versatile; it can be paired with white jeans or shorts, dark denim, black slacks or black jeans, almost any patterned or textured bottom, can be worn unbuttoned as a layer, under a sweater as a layer, and even tied around your waist.  It’s on my to-do list to do an entire post on chambray outfit options because, really, there are SO many.  This is the one I’m wearing and I also have this one.  I love both!

Nude pumps pretty much speak for themselves because, well, nude pumps go with everything!  I recently purchased this pair because they were on mega sale (under $40) and the geometric cut-out pattern is super cute!  These nude pumps definitely have a lot of personality.  If you prefer more of sleek, basic option, I also have these and they are great!

If you’re wanting a light weight neutral blazer/coat, this one is a great option!  It’s not something I usually wear until early spring because, again, it’s light weight (not very warm), but since we haven’t had much cold weather, I’ve been wearing it now.  When the temps are warm in the day and cooler in the evenings, this is my go-to blazer.  I can throw it over my shoulders if I have evening plans and it’s not too heavy or warm.  It’s also a great option for work, church, etc.  I definitely suggest sizing down in this!
