Happy Sunday and HAPPY Mother’s Day! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and I hope you mamas are feeling extra special today. We celebrated Mother’s Day at my parents’ house yesterday. I finally got to see my mom and sisters and it made my heart SO HAPPY! I literally didn’t want the day to end. It was just what we all needed since this week was a little emotional over in our world. Backstory: My stepdad is getting a bone marrow transplant on Wednesday and, though we’re excited that he’s getting the transplant, we’ve all been on pins and needles. My sister is the donor and she finished up her process a week or so ago. He went into the hospital last Tuesday and has to be there for four weeks, without visitors. My mother is having a real hard time not being there with him. Luckily, they get to to FaceTime and Skype several times per day.
I must say, it’s amazing getting to witness family members become donors. My mother gave one of her kidneys to my grandpa several years ago and now my sister is able to give her stem cells to my stepdad. What an incredible thing!
In other news, lots of things have opened up around here. Stores, restaurants, some salons, etc. I still haven’t gone anywhere, but having a meal at a restaurant sure does sound nice! Maybe I’ll be ready soon. For now, I am still at home.
