This is Bethany Crisp, and I am blessed to help Jen with The Sister Studio. Jen and I have been friends for over a decade, and I am constantly in awe of her drive, faith, work ethic, genuinely sweet heart and style…she definitely inspires me to step up my game! All that being said, when Jen asked me to write a guest blog post, I was super excited/nervous…
I am sharing my boys’ playroom with you today, affectionately called “Camp Crisp.” Let me preface this by saying I am not a professional decorator, and those that frequent my home will probably be thinking, “Is that what the floor of that room looks like?” This room sees a lot of action….probably more than any other room in my home….other than maybe the kitchen. On any given day you can find us here building skyscrapers, creating works of art, playing superheroes, reading books or cuddled up watching movies.
I started putting this room together as soon as I found out I was having a second boy. I loved my nursery and only made minor changes to it for Will (second kid probs), so I dove into creating a space where my boys could play together. They are now 3 years old and 15 months, and this space is meant for them to use their imagination, make messes and just PLAY! A lot of love was put into it, and I hope this will always be a room they will make their own as they grow.
My Dad built this tent for my son, Logan’s, first birthday party, which was camp themed. My boys love to hide in it, snuggle in this sleeping bag and read books.
This rug is the first thing I purchased for the room. It is indoor/outdoor, which I think is a MUST for a high traffic kid space. I have had it 2 years, and am impressed with how it’s held up!
This beast of an entertainment center was an online garage sale find. I plan to paint it someday…in my free time…but for now, it does the job of housing lots of toys. The boys each have their own compartments so they can “help” cleanup. The other chest I purchased in the outdoor department of Target, so it has also held up well against two rowdy boys.
This little table comes unpainted, so Logan and I painted and put it together ourselves. This is where lots of art projects and snacking happens.
Hope you enjoyed Camp Crisp! Feel free to drop by and join the crazy! I will always have coffee….or wine….waiting for you!
