5 Ways To Style A Black Dress

I love adding versatile items to my wardrobe! I often push myself to create new ways to style the items in my closet so I’m excited to share 5 ways to style a black dress in today’s post, specifically a black maxi dress. I’m planning to do similar posts in the future because who doesn’t enjoy seeing multiple ways to style basic pieces?

I briefly shared this black maxi dress on Instagram a few weeks ago and mentioned how much I liked it. I’ve been receiving messages and pictures from y’all saying how much you’re loving it, too! The reviews on this dress are SO great and I can see why! It has an elastic waist, adjustable straps, and it’s is not see-through. Plus, we’ve already established how versatile it is. I absolutely LOVE it. Oh, and did I mention, it’s only $38 and also comes in blue? And, trust me, this black maxi dress is super comfy; I’ve been living in this thing!

For reference, the waist can be pulled up or down to make this dress longer or shorter. I’m almost 5’4 and I’m wearing an XS.

First up, you can wear this black maxi dress as is with a statement necklace or statement earrings and cute/colorful clutch.

The third option is my favorite! Put on a bell-sleeve top (or something similar) and knot it! Or you could throw on a cropped sweater in the colder months. So cute and makes it look like an entirely new outfit!

Throw on a utility jacket, utility vest, or a denim jacket + a cute crossbody bag! A perfect option for fall! You could even pair with booties rather than sandals.

Lastly, add a chambray button down, left open, and knotted. Or you could even tie this around your waist. This would also be cute paired with a plaid button down!
