I am SO incredibly excited about today’s post and about sharing ALL about our recent trip to Casino & Resort-Durant! Well, except for the fact that writing this post is making me wish I was back in Durant! Luckily, it’s a quick drive from Dallas so we can probably squeeze in another day or weekend trip there soon!
If you’re not familiar with Choctaw Casino & Resort, fear not, I’m teaming up with their Durant location to share the full scoop on their facilities!
If you’ve been following for awhile, you know that Kyle loves to play blackjack and we often take quick one night trips to Oklahoma casinos because they’re not too far from Dallas. Plus, let’s be honest, a little alone time (without our kids) is vital for our marriage! We usually head out mid morning, grab some lunch, and then check-in to the hotel and then head back the next morning. It’s like our little tradition and we have the best time!
Choctaw Casino & Resort has eight locations throughout Southeast Oklahoma, but Durant is Choctaw’s largest location. Their casino has a hotel, spa, dining options, poker, countless table games, and over 4,000 slots. Oh, and I did I mention an AWESOME pool (a few pools to be exact) with cabanas and a swim-up bar! It’s like Vegas, but a lot closer to home and much more affordable!
We arrived around 2pm and spent the entire afternoon in the pool. The weather was perfect; the drinks were great, and the scenery was so pretty! There was a swim-up bar, lots of space to layout, and several beautiful waterfalls. It was so much fun; it definitely surpassed our expectations. Oh, and they had the cutest cactus drink cups! Y’all know how much I love cactus stuff so I this made my day! It’s the little things…
After the pool, we grabbed a drink at the bar and then headed to the room to shower. Kyle took a little nap while I took my time getting ready. It was nice just taking our time and enjoying each-others company.
We ate dinner at 1832 Steakhouse, located in the hotel. The food and ambiance was PHENOMENAL! We showed up hungry and ordered a little bit of everything. Everything we ate was delicious! They also had live music that was great; it was a man and woman duo who sang and played the piano. They coincidentally played so many songs from our wedding; it really made me smile! Cactus cups and songs from my wedding? Is this real life?
After dinner, we headed to the casino to play games! We can literally sit at a blackjack table for hours! I’m not near as good as Kyle is, but it’s still so much fun! And I also love to play slots; I get so excited when I win anything…even if it’s just $15! I also loved how friendly and personable their dealers were!
What a night; I know I keep saying it, but it was so much fun! The next morning we slept in, then grabbed breakfast at a restaurant in the hotel (the food was incredible) and then we headed to the spa! Wow, the spa was so nice and offered so many great services. Kyle and I opted for a 90 minute couples massage and it was fantastic! It really was the best way to end our trip to Casino & Resort-Durant.
Side note: This pic of Kyle in his spa robe cracks me UP! Haha, I love it!
We really and truly had the best time and we can’t wait to go back. That pool is already calling my name. See you again soon!

I am dying now that I know you love Choctaw! I have worked for the Choctaw Nation for 3 years and LOVE it!! We have a HUGE expansion starting in 2019 and you will have to come see the new hotel/pool/expanded District area! Your kids would love it!
