Comfy Casual Summer Trends

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and a wonderful time celebrating Father’s Day! We had my Family Reunion this weekend and it was so much fun. It’s so neat bringing my kids to the same reunion that went to as a kid and my mother went to as a kid. It’s a family tradition that I hope continues forever!

Today I’m sharing a few comfy casual summer trends with Nordstrom. In regards to style, I never want to compromise comfort. I don’t want to have to pull and tug on my clothes and I never want to be uncomfortable. Sometimes, regarding trends, I completely bypass them because the comfort level is zero!

Typically, when I browse the Nordstrom site or walk through the store, I can tell which trends are the trendiest (is that a word?). And lately I’m seeing a lot of yellow tops, denim shorts, paperbag pants, t-shirt dresses, graphic tees, and espadrille wedges. Luckily, these are some comfy casual summer trends that I can get behind! Reminder: A great thing about shopping trends at Nordstrom is that they have FREE shipping + returns!

First up, let’s talk about paperbag pants. If you’re not familiar, paperbag pants are pants with a high-waist and a tie-waist. The waistband slightly bunches around your waist kind of like it does when you grab the top of a paper bag. This is a trend that I have been a little hesitant about. I have been seeing this style of pants and shorts EVERYWHERE, but I wasn’t quite sure what I thought about them. I found this Topshop pair at Nordstrom and decided to try them on just to “see”. To my surprise, I LOVE them. They are so soft and my favorite color green! Most paperbag-style pants have a wide-leg, but I like that these are more tailored.

SIZING: I always size up in this brand. For reference, I am wearing a size 4 in these pants.

I feel like this trend will be one that you either love or hate. I was definitely on the fence, but I’m so glad I tried on these pants. I think they’re so flattering! Next up, the color yellow. What do you think of yellow? I feel like it’s a color that looks great on everyone and is so perfect for spring and summer! Nordstrom currently has SO many cute yellow tops to choose from! Here is one I picked up the last time I was there.

Another trend that is still going strong is T-shirt dresses! This makes me happy because they are so comfortable and very versatile! Also, typically, they can easily be dressed up or down. Here are few great options available from Nordstrom.

Last, but definitely not least, I want to quickly talk about the wedges I’m wearing in this post. These wedges are literally insta-famous! I feel like they are one of the MOST POPULAR shoes that I’ve seen; they are literally everywhere! I have had them for months now and wear them ALL the time; they are very comfortable, incredibly versatile, and have held up great! I finally decided to grab the white pair, too!
