Dress Options for Family Photos Under $50

Hey! Hey!  This is going to be a pretty quick-ish post, but I have received SO many requests for outfit ideas for family photos so I’m sharing six dresses, all with GREAT reviews, and all UNDER $50!

If I would have been on top of my blogging game, I would have ordered these, styled them, and put together an elaborate and super informative post.  However, I totally dropped the ball, but I figured I would share a few dresses, all from retailers that most of you shop at frequently.  Plus, I made sure they all had really great reviews because that’s always super helpful…well, at least for me because I’m a freak about reviews.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I’m giving suggestions on how to style each dress for family photos and coordinating styling tips for your spouse and kids!

Family Photo Styling Tip:  When all else fells, buy chambray!  If you have something picked out for everyone, but one person (or even two people) a chambray top or dress will almost always match whatever else you’ve picked out for everyone else.  Now, of course, if you’re doing black-tie pictures or something uber fancy, then clearly that won’t work.  But, in most cases, chambray will coordinate nicely with whatever color scheme you’ve selected for your pictures.   A chambray dress for little girls can be found HERE.  A boys chambray top can be found HERE.

Here are a few dresses…

This dress, for sunset pictures, would be SO pretty!  I also think this one would be great for a fall outdoor wedding.  It also comes in a green option, but I love this color for family pictures.  I would wear booties or nude heels; this would also look cute with this floppy hat in either camel or grey!  This dress is only $29 and can be found HERE.

Coordinating colors:  I would put the kids/spouse in navy, burgundy, grey, or chambray.  Your daughter could wear this and your son could wear this.

For those who like to do Christmas family photos, this dress would be great!  You could wear with tall black boots and then put your husband in a black top or sweater and put the kids in red!  I think this dress is classy, yet trendy and would look amazing with tall boots!   This dress is only $34 and also has amazing reviews.  Snag this one HERE.

Coordinating colors:  I would definitely put some of your family in red or burgundy if you opt for this dress, but, technically, most solid colors would also coordinate well.  Your son could wear this charcoal sweater and your daughter wear this red dress.

I LOVE the colors of this one!  It does also come in navy, though, if you prefer that.  I would wear nude sandals/pumps or ankle booties.  This is another dress that would look really cute with a floppy hat!   This dress is $38 and available HERE.

Coordinating colors: Navy, mustard, burgundy, grey, or teal.  Your daughter could wear this or this.

This is an Amazon find what also come in black and navy!  I ordered this burgundy color yesterday, but it hasn’t arrived yet.  I’ll definitely report back when it does.  I think this would be super cute for family photos!  I would wear tall boots or ankle booties.  You could even add a faux fur vest!   This dress is $24 on Prime and available HERE.  Your son could coordinate and wear this.

You could also do the black version of this same dress and your daughter could wear this or this.

Coordinating colors:  Since this is a solid, I would put your kids and/or husband in a pattern.  Maybe a floral dress for your daughter or a navy gingham top for your son or husband!  Burgundy and navy are two colors that always photograph SO well!

This one is more of a spring dress, but the color could definitely work for fall family photos!  Plus, I think this would look adorable with tall boots!  This is another option that could be dressed up and appropriate for an outdoor wedding, paired nude heels or pumps!  This one is $24 and available HERE.

Coordinating colors: Mustard, navy, grey, and cream.  Your daughter could wear this.

This isn’t one that I’d personally wear for family photos, but I think this would be GREAT for a special occasion event or to wear to a fall wedding.  You could wear black heels or even a red heel for the holidays!  You could even add a moto jacket and wear for date night.  It’s classy, flattering, and has amazing reviews!  This one is $34 and available HERE.

Also, this dress that I recommended for family photos last week, was just restocked in ALL sizes!  It also comes in several other colors.  It’s really comfortable and these colors would be great for fall photos!  I’m wearing an xs petite.  It’s $36 and available HERE.

These dresses are currently on sale for just $20!  Not only would they be cute for family photos, but they would also be great for church or the workplace.  I think they would be so cute for teachers!  I ordered both of these colors in xs petite. Available HERE.

I know this post wasn’t super extensive, but hopefully it can least point you in the right direction!  I hope everyone’s family photos turn out wonderful…and everyone’s children and husband cooperate!  *wink

Hi Jen! Are there any dupes out there for your Sam Edelman tan boots besides the slouchy ones from Target? I love them but live in Southwest FL and won’t get to wear them enough to justify the price. We only have about 2 months of temps cool enough to wear them.
