Weekly Recap: August, Week 1 & 2

Happy Sunday! It’s been a very busy, yet super fun and crazy couple of weeks. I had a meeting with Steve Madden in Dallas (yes, THE Steve Madden…I still can’t believe it), Kyle and I went to Isla Mujeres for a quick birthday trip with friends, then I flew to New York to have another design meeting with Steve Madden, and now I’m back home embracing every second with the kids before school starts back up. We only have one more week of summer break left; it’s gone by SO fast! We’ve spent the entire weekend having family time and we finally got all of the school shopping complete!

Though the last couple of weeks were full of some really amazing “pinch me” moments for my job, with that came a LOT of mom guilt. I was having a hard time really embracing the moments because I just felt so guilty for working on a project that was requiring a lot of my time. I’m thankful for a husband and girlfriends who reminded me that the work I’m doing and the passion I have for my job, though can sometimes be time-consuming, is setting a great example for my kids. And, at the end of the day, a great example for my kids is all I hope to be.
