WEAR & SHARE: A&F Denim

Weekly Recap post can be found HERE.

PLEASE READ:  Today kicks off my new Wear & Share series! You may remember that I had an Instagram account where I would share other women wearing items that I’ve shared.  It was a great way to show items on different body types.  However, for some reason, I haven’t been able to log into that account for months.  For that reason, we’re bringing Wear & Share to the blog!

I reached out to my sisters and my girlfriends and created a Wear & Share group.  The girls I share may very depending on their availability and/or their interest in the item that I’m wanting to share.  However, each time I do one of these I will be sure to share at least 6 different women, in addition to myself.

This is the first blog post I’ve done like this so let me know what you think.  Is this helpful, is there more or less information you would like to know or see regarding the item? And, more importantly, what other items would you like to see us Wear & Share?  Your feedback is appreciated.  I want to be a good resource for you so I’m hoping this is helpful!

Today’s Wear & Share item:

We are sharing two pairs of jeans from Abercrombie.  Each person selected from the two, Mid Rise Skinny Jean Leggings OR the Curve Love High Rise Skinny Jeans.  They selected which pair they thought they would like best.  I’m reviewing both.

MID RISE SKINNY JEAN LEGGINGS:

Jodi:  “I’m 5′ 2.5” and typically a size 10, but because these were “super skinny” mid-rise jeggings I panicked and ordered a 12 (size 31) in short length.  They are super comfortable,  like legit leggings! I probably could’ve done the 10 and would’ve had a better fit around my waist, they hug my hips and booty, but I’m constantly pulling them up….BUT I haven’t found a pair of jeans EVER that I don’t have to do that with so that’s the normal for me.  My hips and booty are curvy, baby got back for sure.  I will probably live in these on the days that I need to wear jeans instead of my typical black leggings. -If you’re between sizes, I would go down.  Mid Rise Skinny Jean Leggings– Short Length”

Shannon:  “They’re a size 29 short mid-rise jegging (I am 5’5”).  Mid rise isn’t my favorite because I prefer to feel fully “supported”, so I found myself pulling them up a lot, which got very annoying. Since I usually wear their high-rise jeans, I wanted to give the mid-rise a try.  I loved these with OTK boots and booties. (also, curvy girls – wear those OTK boots! They can make your legs look like toothpicks!) Depending on the brand, I can be a 6, 8, or 10. I have an athletic build, with hips and a big butt! I felt like these stretched out a bit in the waist but held their shape everywhere else. While I like these and will wear them again, I prefer A&Fs high rise super skinny in the same size. –  Mid Rise Skinny Jean Leggings “

Kristi: “As far as jeans go, I LOVE these. I’m in a size 28/6 short (normal size) and the length and fit is perfect. They stay tight, which I love and the wash will go with pretty much everything. I’m 5’2 for reference. – Kristi, Size 28- Mid Rise Skinny Jean Leggings – Short Length”

Michelle: “Hands down my favorite jeans. They are very stretchy, but don’t grow and sag in the butt as the days goes on. They stay in place, including the waistband in the back…it does not have a gap like a lot of mid rise jeans do. I have size 24 in the short length, which hits right at my ankle. I’m 5′. They look great with heels and booties!! –  Mid Rise Skinny Jean Leggings

Jayme: “I love them!! I have worn them a few times, and they’ve kept their shape. They haven’t gotten loose or baggy. I think they run TTS. The color can be dressed up or down. I’ve worn them with over the knee boots, booties and Adidas. They look perfect with any type of shoe. I wish the front pockets were functional, but being leggings, I know that’s why they are not. They are stretchy and very comfortable. I wore them on a 4- hour road trip in the car and they were comfortable and held their shape when I got out. I’m 5’4.5” wearing a size 25- Mid Rise Skinny Jean Leggings – Short Length”

Abercrombie

Jen: I know they’re called “jean leggings”, but for some reason I thought they’d be like regular stretchy jeans.  However, these really are like leggings!  The first thing I thought of  – I would have LOVED to have these during postpartum, after having my babies.  They look like jeans, but have the comfort off leggings so they don’t feel stiff or restricting at ALL.  These would be great Thanksgiving/holiday pants! I wore these to our Friendsgiving yesterday, ate all day, and never felt like I wanted to rip these off.  Again, it felt like I was wearing jean leggings…which, technically, I was.

I do feel like, after a day or so, they started to stretch.  For that reason, if you’re between sizes, I would maybe suggest going down.  These aren’t something I would wear everything single day (I prefer high-rise), but I think these are GREAT to have on hand because of the comfort level!  Note: because they are a denim legging, they have real back pockets, but faux front pockets.  I’m wearing a size 24 in the regular length. I’m almost 5’4″ and probably could have done the short length in these. – Mid Rise Skinny Jean Leggings.

CURVE LOVE HIGH RISE SKINNY JEANS:

JJ: “Okay, I have a short torso which makes them really high waisted on me. They come up past my belly button. BUT….they are soooo comfortable. They have good stretch but do not feel like they’ll stretch out to be baggy. And they feel like butter. Also, they hold you in really well. I felt skinny in them, which is nice! I’m in a size 27- Curve Love High Rise Skinny Jeans -Regular Length”

Heather: “I love them!! At first they were a little stretchy, but then I washed them they were perfect. I guess I range in size from a size 26-27, but I went with the 27 in these (short length, I’m 5’1”. I could have went with the 26, but after washing these they have not lost their shape. I have wore them to run errands, and they are extremely comfortable. I wore them on a date with the hubby and he said they made my butt look good, I have no butt so that was nice to hear. I love the high waist and even being only 5’1, I felt they did not ride up too high. Plus, they sucked in my love handles so I liked that a lot. I would highly recommend these jeans.  Curve Love High Rise Skinny Jeans– Short Length”

Abercrombie

Jen: These come up really high on me, but they hold everything in! I feel like they are very flattering and I like the fit and the color!  I also feel like these are good booty jeans. They hug you in all the right places, have a good amount of stretch, and look really nice! If you like high-rise jeans, I would definitely recommend these!  I’m wearing a size 24 regular. • Hi! As I mentioned above, I have other girls (and different sizes), but not everyone will be available for every single share. These were the girls who were available to to participate for this week. I am very thankful they took the time to do this for me! I’m sorry it wasn’t helpful.

Despite being 56 yrs old, we have similar clothing style and I appreciate you keeping me up-to-date! However I am 5’9” (wear 8-10 pants) and you are all so petite. Also please include big chested girls when you do tops.

Love this post! My only suggestion would be to list out that person’s height, typical size and sizing recommendation (TTS, up or down a size, etc.) at the beginning of their post. That way it’s always easy to find the person who has a build most like you.

I love that your doing this!! When it comes to jeans I have always (since like high school) stayed away from A&F thinking I was too curvy for them (usually a 10-12 size normally) but seeing them on Jodi they look so nice and flattering on her. I am now excited to give them a try again.
    Thanks!!
