November 6th Celebrations

Four years ago today, I celebrated my second wedding anniversary, I went into labor with my son Camden, and Obama became President (again).  It was a pretty eventful day, to say the least, but it still goes down in history as my favorite day ever because it’s the day I became a momma!  As silly as it sounds, I would relive that day a hundred times if I could.  It was such a special moment and is one of my favorite memories.  Seriously, it was so wonderful getting to have a baby on my wedding anniversary.  Talk about the best anniversary gift, ever!

We started trying to have a baby pretty much the minute we got married…well, technically, it was a few hours later, but you get the idea.  I was certain I would easily get pregnant because my sisters and mother never had any issues.  Boy, was I wrong.  Trying to get pregnant and dealing with infertility was the most emotional and draining thing I’ve ever endured.  It took a toll on my marriage and it literally made me crazy.  The good thing, though, God had his hand in that entire situation.  My faith and my love for the Lord grew leaps and bounds during that time and that journey  became part of my testimony.  His timing really is perfect.  So, as you can imagine, when we finally got pregnant, I was thrilled!  I was even more thrilled the day he was born and we got to hold our precious baby boy in our arms.  That day was so incredibly special for Kyle and I.  Camden is our oldest child, but he will always be our baby.

Camden has the sweetest personality!  He is very sensitive and kind and extremely affectionate.  He loves life and, just like his momma, he gets excited about the tiniest things.  I feel so lucky to be his mommy.  He has changed our lives and continues to make us better people and parents.  I can’t spend much time thinking about him getting older because it makes me so sad.  I never want to live a single day without him, so the thought of him growing up and going to college and moving out literally breaks this sappy momma’s heart.  So, today, we’ll just focus on him turning four and pretend that he’ll be this four year old cuddly momma’s boy forever.

Typically, we have family birthday parties for he and Remi on their birthdays, but this year, for Camden, we decided to just spend the entire day doing his favorite things.  We took him to a place called Yesterland Farms where he got to ride roller coaters, feed animals, get his face painted, eat junk food, and open presents. It was the best time!  Today we’ll being going to the fire station to visit daddy, he’ll get to open more presents and we’ll sing him Happy Birthday 23749 times.  Everyday, for the past month, he wakes up asking if today he is four. Well, sweet boy, today is the day…you are officially four years old!  We love you to the moon!

And Happy 6th Wedding Anniversary to my husband, Kyle.  There isn’t anyone else that I’d rather do life with.  You take such good care of us; you are incredibly giving, selfless and supportive and I’m so thankful you’re mine!  Marriage isn’t always easy and life isn’t either, but the love we have for each other will always carry us through.  I can’t even put into words how lucky I feel to have someone who always supports my passions and encourages me to chase my dreams.  I love you more than anything in the world!  I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for us.  Here’s to many more years and memories together!
