“When you get tired learn to rest, not to quit.” I took the weekend to restore and refresh. I needed a couple of days to not be glued to my phone, the tv, or news articles. We asked my sister and her family if they wanted to meet us at the cabin for the weekend, I’m so glad they said yes! I spent minimal time on my phone and, wow, it’s exactly what I needed. Not that I’m trying to avoid or hide from everything that’s going on in the world and in the news right now, but I needed a minute away from it all. A moment of joy with my family. The saying is true, you cannot pour from an empty cup. Emotions have been high the last couple of weeks and I’ve noticed that when I spend too much time glued to news outlets, social media and people’s opinions, I start to become restless and often short-fused so I have to step away and spend more time with Him and my loved ones. This weekend I did just that. Be still and know. – Psalm 46:10
